The Municipality of Plovdiv has launched the third consecutive edition of the large-scale sports event "School Games of Will" (*Uchilishni Igri na Volyata*), which brought together hundreds of motivated young people at the modern Kolodruma Arena. Inspired by the popular reality TV show, this initiative is rapidly becoming one of the most anticipated sporting traditions in the "City under the Hills." The event serves as a key component of Plovdiv’s bid to become the "European Capital of Sport 2028."
This year, the competition took place entirely indoors at the Kolodruma Arena, offering students world-class facilities. Many of the challenges were designed to push the participants' speed, endurance, strength, coordination, and teamwork skills to their absolute limits. The competition delivered a massive dose of adrenaline and a fiercely contested battle that lasted until the very final second. Twenty-three municipal and state schools participated with full commitment, and the final standings in the two main categories demonstrated an exceptionally high level of sportsmanship and tactical prowess.
The winners were presented with their awards by Malvina Nedevska, a chief expert in the "Sports and Youth Activities" department of the Municipality of Plovdiv. Here is the official ranking:
Group I: Students in grades 7 through 9
1. Gold medal (1st place): "St. Patriarch Evtimiy" Secondary School
2. Silver medal (2nd place): "Arch. Kamen Petkov" Vocational High School of Architecture, Construction, and Geodesy (The Construction Technical School)
3. Bronze medal (3rd place): "Academic Kiril Popov" High School of Mathematics
Group II: Students in grades 10 through 12
1. Gold medal (1st place): "Academic Kiril Popov" High School of Mathematics
2. Silver medal (2nd place): "St. Cyril and St. Methodius" Humanities High School
3. Bronze medal (3rd place): "St. Patriarch Evtimiy" Secondary School
Following the high level of interest, the organizers—the Municipality of Plovdiv, with the support of Bultras Fight Club—are planning to expand the 2027 competition to a two-day event, once again held at the Kolodruma Arena. The goal is to fulfill the desire of younger students to test their skills in a major arena setting.
